Back at the Annual Parish Meeting in May, Charlie  Borrowdale was presented with the Melbourn Parish Council ‘The future is bright’ community award.

We celebrate Charlie in recognition of his efforts to support and promote the food bank as well as fostering a strong sense of community spirit by encouraging peers and staff at Melbourn Village College to contribute and raise funds.

Charlies nomination…

After speaking with several members of staff at Melbourn Village College, Charlie’s name came up repeatedly, and it’s clear that he would be a most deserving recipient of a Parish Council Community Award.

 

Charlie has demonstrated real compassion through his work promoting the local foodbank within our school. He has not only raised awareness among students and staff about the vital role the foodbank plays in supporting vulnerable members of our community, but he has also led successful fundraising campaigns to support its ongoing work.

 

Charlie has inspired generosity, empathy, and action among his peers. His efforts have directly supported the foodbank and helped to foster a stronger sense of community spirit within the school. Charlie consistently demonstrates kindness, integrity, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.

 

We are incredibly proud of Charlie and the meaningful contribution he continues to make.
